Project Reach Out – Promising Practices

Many of you are already involved in evangelization activities and programs sponsored by your diocese, parish community, or religious community. Project Reach Out offers additional ideas and suggestions – called promising practices – for those wishing to design a particular program or expand existing programs for evangelization and outreach in the Black Community. Please add your own suggestions for Promising Practices or tell us about your experiences with these Promising Practices.

Reach out to invite members of the Black Community to a Black History Month liturgy in celebration of life.

Reach out to members of the Black Community and form an adult education/discussion group to read Notes of a Native Son by James Baldwin.

Reach out to work with area churches, synagogues, and mosques to plan a forum on anti-racism for high school youth.

Reach out to gather family and friends together to pray the Black Catholic History Rosary.
